Mazola® Heart Healthy Corn oil

18 Mar

MazolaI grew up in the 50’s and 60’s and Mazola is a a brand that our family grew up with! Life was simpler back then, I was raised in the South so traditional foods are often fried. Back then we didn’t know much about cholesterol and how eating healthier would affect us later in Life…or maybe we just didn’t worry about it! Mazola brand has been around since 1911 so I think even my Grandparents used Mazola. There weren’t as many choices back then, of course. Mazola corn oil is 100% cholesterol free with no additives and it allows the natural flavors of your foods shine thru. There has been a recent research that that shows than Mazola corn oil may lower LDL (the bad one) cholesterol better than some other oils.  Read more about this study and the health benefits of corn oil at

Here are a few of the recipes I made using Mazola corn oil. Each dish only uses a few tablespoons so that in itself is healthy!

This was a well seasoned dish that I decided to do in the slow cooker on a Sunday. Delicious and so easy! I plan to use the leftovers for loaded nachos for appetizers later this week! I can’t wait!

Here is a quick Salmon recipe that will impress your Family….

If your family doesn’t like grapefruit, just substitute a citrus they do enjoy….. oranges would be great with this also!
